  1. Because It flows in a Rift valley which is having a natural slope toward Arabian sea. The fault that Narmada flows is a dormant arm of triple point fault near Red sea which runs parallel to Yemen, Oman, Iran, Pakistan and Indian west coast where it gets further divided in sub arms, Wardha, Narmada, parts of Godavari and Damodar, Son are some of the rivers which flow in rift valley. A branch of this fault called Allahband faut got activated which was responsible for the Bhuj earthquake.
